The Anthotyping Landscapes project explores anthotype as a participatory dyeing technique that can reconnect people with local ecosystems. Anthotype is a technique that uses sunlight to imprint motifs onto fiber. Unlike the more common cyanotype, anthotype uses only plant materials and no harsh chemicals. A mobile makerspace aims to promote dyeing techniques as crafts. Designers Teresa Carvalheira and Freja Nielsen are collaborating with artisan RouaAtelier to explore the technique's potential and reconnect people with local ecosystems.
