Moving Landscape

Moving Landscape emerged from an extended investigation into colour, centred around a flock of sheep during the breeding season. For six months, the rams wore small, handmade colour sculptures made from natural pigments and beeswax. The colours changed weekly. In total, 200 colours emerged, blending through movement, contact, and interaction with the environment into new colour variations.

The artist’s book is a selection from the archive of this project. Produced as a full-colour risograph print, it forms a colour study of the project as a whole. As the pages are turned, the reader becomes immersed in the colours and a constantly moving landscape unfolds.

The book is published in an edition of 69 copies and was hand-folded and hand-bound collectively by a group of ten people.

In her work, Karin Peulen explores the interplay between colour and structure, with an interest in memory, connection, and the relationship between people, animals, and their environment. She works across media including silkscreen, photography, and textiles.
