This publication challenges the patriarchal undertones of martial arts through a queer feminist lens. With the aim to create a transnational network of solidarity, the project expresses a journey to explore feminist and queer communities across various martial arts disciplines through interventions and interviews with athletes, performers, researchers and activists. Bringing together strength, a refusal of oppression and the aim to forge safe spaces, the publication deconstructs martials arts as a pedagogy and fluid practice, as it features six interviews that investigate themes around rage, empathy and flow, intimacy, violence and tools of connection. The experimental graphics of the publication apply subtle design decisions to each of the six chapters, mirroring the core messages of the interviews.
