Re-verberations - Tactics of Resistance, Forms of Agency in Trans/cultural Practices

In a nomadic and disruptive world, the question of transcultural relations resurfaces again and again, each time with greater urgency. Affecting all of us in a variety of ways, it was imperative that the Jan van Eyck Akademie dedicate part of its experimentally creative research programme to a deeper investigation and re-assessment. Over the past three years, under the careful guidance of Jean Fisher, internationally known for her artistic and scholarly reflections on this complex subject, a unique symposium, Reverberations, was organised. The variety of speakers, coupled with their intensity, vitality and humour, brought a fresh perspective to the subject.
