Shaped Cinema

Shaped Cinema is a video that visually sets in motion the paintings of Frank Stella called 'Shaped Canvases', and the critical texts that explains it written by William Rubin in 1970. In this video the editing is produced by the content depicted, Frank Stella's Shaped Canvases. The paintings originally proceed by the same idea: the content of the painting shapes the canvas of the painting.

This project takes the form of a video, 5 photographic prints, and an artist book. It was made in 2010-2011 at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. The artist book was published by the Jan van Eyck academie, Maastricht.
