This book project started from my dilemma that we graphic designers keep creating something to be consumed fast so that companies can make more profit while the state of the planet is deteriorating significantly from climate change which was caused by the extreme form of capitalism.
After I did some desk research about what I can do to reduce the environmental footprint in my work, I compiled these multiple pieces of information as a practical guide. However, It was not enough to envision how I could work as a graphic designer in the coming future. So I conducted a series of interviews with graphic designers who are already trying something new and making differences. You can see the list of interviewees below.
The first edition is printed and bound by Obra Press. They are a local risograph printer in Copenhagen. Since they are also concerned about climate change and having dilemmas of creating a physical object, I interviewed them to talk about what we can do to reduce our environmental footprint when we print and produce something out in the world.
